Information We Collect

SnapCap does not require an account. We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.

When you record a stack and allow cloud transcription, audio is sent to CalnFlow’s transcription service so speech can be converted to text for your CAP stack. Audio is processed for transcription only and is not used for marketing or profiling.

Microphone Access

SnapCap uses the microphone only when you choose to record spoken thoughts while the app is open and active. Recording happens on device. When you stop, and only after you allow cloud transcription in the app, audio may be transmitted to produce your numbered CAP stack.

Speech-to-Text / AI Transcription

SnapCap asks for your permission in the app before sending audio for cloud transcription.

What is sent: the audio from your recording (and an anonymous device identifier used only to operate the transcription endpoint). Who receives it: CalnFlow LLC operates the transcription API. That API uses OpenAI Whisper to convert speech to text. How it is used: to produce the text that becomes your numbered CAP stack. Audio is not sold, and is not used for advertising.

If you choose “Use On-Device Only,” SnapCap will not send audio to the cloud transcription service and will rely on on-device speech recognition when available.

OpenAI’s data protections for API processing apply to Whisper requests made through CalnFlow’s service. See OpenAI’s privacy documentation for API customers, and contact support@calnflow.com with questions.

Data Storage

Formatted CAP stacks are copied to your clipboard on device. SnapCap does not maintain a cloud library of your stacks in V1. Share/export uses the iOS share sheet you choose.

Third-Party Services

SnapCap uses Apple's StoreKit for subscriptions and CalnFlow’s public transcription API for speech-to-text. Cloud transcription is performed with OpenAI Whisper under CalnFlow’s API account. No third-party analytics or ad SDKs are integrated.

Children's Privacy

SnapCap is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
